In 1992 APC began as a retail after market motorcycle shop called Arizona Performance Cycles located in Bullhead City, Arizona.

By 1996, the after-marketparts market had matured, allowing a well connected shop owner to secure the necessary parts to build his own creation. As a result APC began designing and building "custom" large V twin motorcycles "from scratch". As APC began to build these new creations, more and more customers sought them out to have their dream bike built. The demand for APC motorcycles continued to increase, and in late 1996, the American Performance Cycle Motorcycle Company was born.
